Overview
Seeking discerning individuals plugged into internet technologies at the intersection of crisis, geopolitical and user harm issues. You will be working on the leading edge of fast-developing issues like the spread of misinformation and potential breaches of election integrity.
This is a vendor role with Highspring, for our client, a Fortune 100 company. This position is currently hybrid at our North Austin location.
Candidates can expect a fast-paced, energetic environment working on a team that delivers high-impact awareness of world events. Successful candidates will be able to scan a variety of online sources to detect and accurately escalate issues of concern to our client. Strong communication skills and ease of working with multiple tools with fast-evolving technology are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Search the internet daily for any potentially damaging issues and user risks
- Log leads found via open source intelligence, allowing stakeholders to take action
- Assist on ad hoc projects aimed at preventing product abuse for the client
- Detect & log man-made and natural disasters globally in order to provide help and information to those being affected by the crisis
- Monitor situations and provide up-to-date information cross-functionally
- Work with analysts to research various topics and keywords to provide early warning signals for current events and trends happening globally
- Acknowledge and staying up to date on all team process updates
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree. The ideal candidate will have majored in political science, journalism, international relations,history, english or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with a proven ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams with senior stakeholder and executive visibility
- Calm under pressure, with an ability to function well in urgent, developing situations
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects at once
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Google products, its brand, infrastructure, and types of online abuse
- Understanding of international and geopolitical events and how they may impact a global company
- Strong technical competency, with a data-driven analytical approach toward observing developing trends
- Strong interest in the internet, pop culture, news media, history and current events
- Expertise with Internet technologies and related policy and regulatory environments
- High degree of initiative and deadline-driven productivity
- Customer service/client experience preferred
- Basic knowledge, education, experience or interest in Open source Intel gathering and social media monitoring is a plus
Schedule Requirements
- You may be asked to work outside of your core hours due to business necessity
- Core business hours vary depending on the shift. Rotating days off. This is not a standard Monday-Friday position. Must be open to working weekends and holidays when necessary.

- Overnight (11pm-7:30am CST - 3 days WFH)
